Redwood Hall Settle

| Produced in Early Qing
Dynasty during the years of Kangxi Reign, this rare redwood hall settle is
more than 450 years old. Hall Settler was only used by the royal family inside the Palace. According to records, there were only about 20 such pieces in the entire country at the time it was made. There are only less than six such pieces in good condition preserved in museums in China today. The settle is 1.93 m (76") long, 52 cm (20") deep, 69 cm (27") tall, the seat is 0.51 m (20") high. The first-class workmanship is illustrated by elegant relief sculpture and smooth joints. It is by all means the treasure of antique redwood furniture. A description in Chinese is shown below. |
