Jade has been an integral element in the Chinese culture for at least five
thousand years. From prehistoric times it was the quintessential
material for ritual implements. It came to symbolize the finest
attributes of humanity. It was a metaphor for all that was beautiful
and sensuous.
The term jade refers to two main groups of
material: jadeite and nephrite. The Chinese word for jade signifies
five cardinal virtues: charity, modesty, courage, justice, and
wisdom.
In following pages you will find beautiful jade
carvings, antique or contemporary. They are not in-stock in the US, but
we can deliver them by air, typically in a couple of weeks. |
