People
have been drinking tea in China since 28th century BC and certainly 10th century BC.
Tea was brought to Europe by the Dutch in the early 17th century AD, and to North
America by early settlers. Today tea is enjoyed by half of the world's
population. Research has found that tea contains multiple antioxidants that are very
beneficial to the human body in fighting cancers and heart diseases, etc.. Tea is
gaining acceptance in more regions worldwide. |
Accordingly, the hobby of teapot collection has
spread with the popularity of tea. In these pages we introduce a variety of teapots
for collectors. Some are traditional pottery types, some are handcrafted from
stone. We carry miniature stone and pottery teapot sets about the size of a walnut,
to small size stone teapots about five inches long. The stone teapots are
meticulously hand carved by artisans in an eastern province in China, where stone carving
is a traditional art for thousands of years. Each teapot is one of a kind, with its shape
and size tailored to the stone's characteristics. Please note that all our teapots
are functional, no matter how tiny they are. Their lids open, and their spouts pour
tea. Teapot collectors all over the world admire our exclusive miniature soapstone
teapots sets. We hope you have fun visiting our Teapot pages. |
